Thank you to the original and current stewards of this land, their ancestors, and their children: the s'qwali?abš (Nisqually), spuyaləpabš (Puyallup), č̓tilqʷəbš (Steilacoom), Squawskin (Squaxin Island), sxʷəbabš (S'Homamish), st’əč’ás (Stehchass), T'Peeksin, Squi-aitl, Sa-heh-wamish, and dxʷdəwʔabš (Duwamish). Coast Salish peoples have called this land and waters home since time immemorial. I am honored to be a guest and mindful steward alongside them.
