requiem for 2025 🔥

i am burying and putting down this year,

the versions of myself,

dreams i’ve outgrown,

my very own flesh and blood.

inviting and allowing it all

to rot and decay in the

fiery, damp warmth

of the womb of the earth.

offerings to the deities and spirits,

my spirits,

so that their compost may nourish

my present and future selves.

the molted skin of the sacred serpent

is grotesque and delicate,

dead and beautiful and full of life.
